We had absolutely delightful weather this weekend! Wolfgang made a fire on both Saturday and Sunday night, and Katherine had her first experience with smores. Lots of fun!

Who Likes It More ?

I can't quite decide who enjoys playing in the sandbox more - Wolfgang or Katherine! Wolfgang built this elaborate road and tunnel system for Katherine, and she loves pushing little cars through the maze. These pictures were taken Saturday morning. She was still wearing her "jammies" and had lots of fun playing in the sandbox with Daddy while I made breakfast!

We finally got sand for Katherine's sandbox! She had a blast playing in it for the first time.

Splash Pad Fun

I haven't seen a roller slide like this in any other park - it was Katherine's favorite

I took Katherine to a park and splash pad today. She had so much fun! At first she was very unsure about all the spraying water. Then, she got a little more daring each time. I can't say that she was running through it, but she definitely had fun splashing in a couple of the "more tame" fountains.

New Shoes

Katherine needed some new sandals, so we set out on a shoe shopping expedition today! I found out that I have a shoe fanatic on my hands (like Mommy like Daughter - ha!ha!). She had so much fun trying on all the shoes. She is very proud of her new sandals that go between her toes - just like mommy's! I had to pry them off her feet when I put her down for her nap this afternoon! It was a fun morning. To top it all off, Stride Rite was having a super sale on sandals ($14.99) - can't beat it :-)

I can't believe I haven't put out an update sooner than this! We've been busy with many different projects around the house. Here's a quick update:

1. We bought a new mattress for ourselves so that our old mattress could go to Katherine's big girl room. After sleeping in a full mattress for 4 1/2 years, Wolfgang and I are thrilled to finally have a king size bed - hooray!

2. We had a retractable awning installed over our patio. Another exciting purchase for us - one that I have been wanting for the past two years! So far we haven't had much sun to be able to test it out, but we are both happy with the results. It makes our patio feel so much more private, and the shade is great :-)

Wolfgang is in week one of his annual tour for the Air Force Reserves. Thankfully, he does not have to go out of state! Whew!

Fun with Grandma

All ready for bed

My mom came for a visit last week. We had such a wonderful time. Katherine LOVED playing with Grandma. She would wake up in the morning and her first word would be grandma (it sounds like "bamma" when she says it). It was the same thing when she would wake up from her naps - she wanted to see "bamma" right away! She did not want grandma to leave this morning - it was so sad, but so sweet that she loves gma so much. I can't believe that these are the only pictures I took while mom was here! I tried to take a couple others, but Katherine is so fascinated with the camera that as soon as she sees it, she wants to hold it, etc., so I can't get a picture!
